Charity Alert: Keep that Resolution to click on The Hunger Site every day. Also check into Terra Sigilata blog -- donate $$$ to cancer patients just by clicking onto the site.

In The Community: The Honors Symposium is tomorrow -- Poetry is on the agenda!
The Hockaday Museum of Art is setting up our annual Childrens Show and High School Art Show. I helped install George Gogas' abstract paintings yesterday and Monday. They were large, but they were light. We don't show modern art as often as other genres, although Donna Gans' show was very well attended last fall -- get in there and see it!
Check out Fall for Glacier -- a fundraiser for several programs that make Glacier National Park even better!

Media Watch: Yay! S***mouthed Adam is OFF Dancing with the Stars. The results show was fairly entertaining, but there was still too much video-padding. The Kid's Kompetition was OK. Sheryl Crow isn't my favorite musical personality, but she works much harder than the average bear and I don't mind hearing her now and then. It is remarkable that this show featured another cancer survivor last week -- Dance-club diva Kylie Minogue from Down Under. Aussie Kym Johnson danced to Crow's first number too, along with Edyta, Tony, and Mark.

Personal note -- Alan (Gunga) Purves, as I learned to spell his name, was a friend of mine when I lived in Amsterdam. He joined Friends Roadshow during the first Festival of Fools, and became the drummer for my theater group in 1976. He spent a number of years on the throne for Sail-Joya. He recently made an album with Davy Norkett called All By My Shelf which kept me laughing as I played it in France a couple of summers back. From Davy's website: Here is an idea what instruments a (Squeekologist) like "Gunga" might use... Wee Kalimbas, School Bells, Brim Bram, Jaws Harp, Tubes, Moothies, Wee Accordions, Euler's Disk, Plastic Bags, Bodhran, Bird Whistles, Car Horn, Boom Wackers, Chinese Crickets, Rubber Drums, Tin Whistles, Spring Drum, Wee Accordion, Wee Marimba, Bowed Cymbal...and more.

My friend and extraordinary dancer Katie Duck, with Melvin Fraenk (wearing the hoodie) and Alexandra Manasse (head shaved bald).
