Day-um! I'm still eight hours ahead of my time zone, and wake up too early to suit me or my cat. I went to the Kalispell Farmer's Market this morning, and tied up my sagging tomato cages this afternoon, while Red-Tail Hawks hunted overhead.

Media Watch: The great Bela Lugosi in a couple of early-30's creepers on TCM -- Island of Lost Souls and Murders in the Rue Morgue. Both of which were too sexually charged and sadistic to be really popular in their time, and are still a bit uncomfortable today, despite their melodramaticly overwrought styles.

Lovely Camille looks on as equally beautiful Rhonna gives her brother Pascal some "stick" as he stands inside a giant goddess puppet during a parade at a nearby flea market during Footsbarn's 35th Anniversary Celebration in Central France.

Deer and raptors in the early morning, as I was heading out for the NW Montana Fair Parade. I've been back for only 30 hours, but I'm working again.

Back from France -- with too much to say. I saw a pair of spotted fawns leaping across the road in bright afternoon sunshine today, and heard Coyotes last night -- watch out!

Media Watch: Carole Lombard movies on TCM this morning -- great actress, but there are an awful lot of second rate screwball comedies in her cirricula vitae.

CHAPITEAU NAPO -- the 500 seat tent, set up by famous master circus engineer Napo at La Chaussee in 6 hours, with the help of four assistants. I saw both Pierre Byland and Nola Rae perform under this big top. (Picture uploaded 8/19/2006 -- thanks for the spelling tip, Suse!)
