Middle Foy's Lake has male Ducks chasing each other all over the place, in and out of the water -- settle down boys! My poor sweet little Buttercup cat had a load of Skunk-scent all over her legs and paws. We're not sure how it happened, an attack or ill-advised choice of pathways, but Skunk-Off worked in this case to clear the smell. (Damn near ripped my shoulder off with those sharp little claws while I was bathing her, though! Left me with some four-inch cuts on my arms.) Merry Gold, the big male, growled at Buttercup and even tried to bite her. Jasmine the Calico was VERY upset about THAT smell in HER house, and needed lots of reassurance until it was abated.

Media Watch: TCM started showing some "lost" RKO movies. They were originally part of Meriam C. Cooper's termination package back in 1934 or so. I doubt that RKO intended to give anything of value away. I was barely able to sit through ONE of them, with young sexy Ginger Rogers, but it was too pathetic to say much about, so I'll decline saying anything more.

Meriam C. Cooper kept RKO from falling off the edge of bankruptcy with the outrageously effects-laden King Kong and Flying Down to Rio. Fred Astaire's sister/stage partner Adaile had just retired from Theatre, and he was giving Hollywood a try -- his historic onscreen relationship with Ginger Rogers began with this movie.
