Former President Bill Clinton showed up about 40 minutes late, but stayed until nearly 11 PM, speaking to everyone who wanted to talk to him, and signing our books. It was cold and drizzly, but everybody hung in. Over 3000 people showed up.
(See my photo at the end of this post.)

Sitemeter Sez: New York City, Paris, France, and Berkeley, California -- pretty cool places!

You'll definitely need to click this one to see all the birdies!
There are clouds of bugs for them to eat, while the Fish Eagle keeps soaring over the water. If you can spot the one 60 cm Osprey wingspan from the many 20 cm Swallow wingspans, ya' got better eyes than I do! Photo by M.E.

Media Watch: After we got back from seeing Bill Clinton, we dried off, and caught up with Network TV -- Trash A Go Go kept Cristián de la Fuente, Cheryl's one-armed dancing project; Kristi Yamaguchi, who will get MY votes; and handsome Jason Taylor -- Edyta's best partner yet. We ran the tape of last night's Dancing with the Stars results show in fast-forward whenever there was a commercial or padding --- there were maybe 15 minutes worth of of entertainment in the entire hour-long show.

This man can work a crowd ...

Former President Clinton, and a Secret Service bodyguard, as photographed by myself May 13, 2008, about 10:15 PM in the Arboretum at Flathead Valley Community College, Kalispell, Montana. My wife and I each bought a first edition of Clinton's book My Life in 2004. Later on, his foundation told us he wouldn't be able to sign them by post, so we were very happy for the chance to put them into his hands, and watch him autograph them inside his vehicle after he finished "working the rope line." A cold wind was blowing, the air was misty and rainy, and it was only a few degrees above freezing. I bet he was happy to be out of the weather after almost three hours of swimming in it with all of us.
