In The Community: The Hockaday Museum of Art has two new shows -- Seldom Seen, from the Permanent Collection, and First Nations Artists -- Contemporary / Traditional. We still have Crown of the Continent, and Ace of Diamonds. Dan Fagre's show about the vanishing glaciers of Glacier National Park is a true labor of love by himself and other scientists from the USGS. Here's another website comparing glacier photos from the early 20th Century and now.

Media Watch: Signing up with Lady GaGa's MySpace site means more SPAM comes my way -- ugh. My FaceBook account is loading up with members of West High's Senior Class of 1968 -- there were over 600 people who graduated with me.
From Bollywood, we watched My Name is Anthony Gonsalves (2008), starring young Nikhil Dwivedi in the title role, and Amrita Rao as the ingenue. Veteran actor Anupam Kher was excellent as a crimelord -- in fact, everybody's acting was superb, including Anil Kapoor's cameo. The downfall of this movie was its stupid plot -- Amar, Akbar, Anthony it WASN'T, although Dwivedi's character quoted Amitahb Bachchan's line: "sophisticated rhetorician intoxicated by the exuberance of your own verbosity" from Bachchan's famously goofy song-and-dance number My Name is Anthony Gonsalves, filmed in 1977.
Hum Aapke Hain Koun...! (1994) From the director of the magnificent Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, an earlier piece of indigestibly sentimental tripe that I just couldn't stomach, even with Madhuri Dixit's dancing -- sorry!
