Media Watch: East Indian movies -- this time a Tamil (not Bollywood) film called I have Found It, supposedly based on Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility. Aishwarya Rai was the advertised star, but she was a secondary lead -- that's alright with me. I like multiple plots in these domestic romances. There were perceptible stylistic differences between Madras and Bombay, but movies are still movies and people are still people -- similarities still rule.
Versitile comic and all-purpose actor Shah Rukh Khan
and the beautiful, far-from-limited, Aishwarya Rai
Ash acted well in that movie and made a name inspite of talent like Tabu and Mamooty being around. Her beauty is an embellishment to her talent. See Raincoat and Choker Bali for talent in art films. In Bride and Prejudice also her stunning looks steal the show along with subtle acting. DVD of Bride is execellent viewing choice.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading! I will take a look at Choker Bali when I find it.
ReplyDeleteI have mentioned those other films, and my reactions to them, already on the pages of this blog.
