Weather: Too damn dry -- The Daily Internet: The Daily Inter Lake Newspaper, Kalispell, Montana
Wildlife: Gross story warning!
1) A blackbird crashed into our front window and died.
2) The Magpies and other carrion birds started eating its carcass, but didn't bother to fly off with it as they usually do.
3) I had to clean it up myself before our cats went outside and brought it inside -- YUCK!
Charity Alert: The Hunger Site : Give Food for Free to Hungry People in the World
Media Alert: Kumar Sonu has a wonderful voice, and has made hundreds of tracks for Indian movies: Hindi Songs Page - Unlimited ..... There are, of course, many more "playback singers" with thousands of fans of their own.
CSpan : A panel discussion of women's (and society's) issues led by Barnard College's President Judith Shapiro -- pretty good!
Just the opposite: U.S. and Iraq One Year Later: Right to Get In? Wrong to Get Out?
Christopher Hitchens, "A Long Short War: The Postponed Liberation of Iraq"
(Frickin' JACKASS -- pure poison in a debate. The "never argue with a fool" rule means that he has his disingenuous say and nobody else matters. He goes first, hogs all the time, and sets the agenda -- even if facts are presented to the panel later, they are irrelevant to his smug assertions. Never give a sniper the high ground in the name of fair play!
Seat Warmers:
Mark Danner, "The Massacre at El Mozote"
Michael Ignatieff, "The Lesser Evil: Political Ethics in an Age of Terror"
Robert Scheer, co-author, The Five Biggest Lies Bush Told Us About Iraq"
Steve Wasserman, Los Angeles Times Book Review editor—Moderator (Ha! Watch the discussion die before it ever starts, Steve.)
At the College: I'm going to submit a short paper about Footsbarn Theatre's international success to the Global Friends club as an antidote to the other students' gloom 'n doom stuff about various ugly wars in our beautiful world. Footsbarn - Welcome
